Aniak slips past Angels, 65-51

The Aniak Halfbreeds scored 23 points in the first quarter and then held on to take a 65-51 victory over the Bristol Bay Angels in a game played in Bethel.

Peter Geffe and Connor Romer helped the Angels hold their own early in the contest. Romer scored seven of his 13 points in the opening stanza and helped the Angels fight to within 23-18.

Geffe helped power BBHS in the first. He sank a pair of treys in the frame.

Geffe finished the game with 17 points. Joel Kern also reached double figures for the Angels, netting 12. Kaleb Hill added nine.
